Nick's father began riding in 1974 when he purchased his first ever motorcycle a Honda CB550K. After a few trips riding two up (with wife Gayle) with gear, he wished he had gone the little extra and purchased the CB750K. But having said that, he enjoyed riding the bike until last year, when a BMW R1200GS came into his life. He continues to own the Honda though. He remembers the days well, when he had to ask Nicholas if he could borrow it, to take a Sunday afternoon ride! He is a control, metering and relaying design technologist, working for an electrical utility.
Now over 60, Roy is concerned that he will be the limiting factor on this ride, as Nicholas is 30 years his junior. The bikes are very comparable, but the same can not be said for the riders. :) He is however, very game for this adventure.
Roy's son grew up all over Canada, and currently lives in small town Vermont with his amazing wife, Jessica. (Their third anniversary takes place right in the middle of this trip; isn't he a jerk?) He's a professional computer geek ("Systems Engineer" according to some), and he spends his spare time playing Ultimate or planning a motorcycle trip to Inuvik. His first motorcycle was the very same 1974 Honda CB550K, although that was only ever a "loaner" from Dad. More recently you may have seen him on a 2001 Honda VF750 Magna, if not his current GS.
